Close Protection Top-Up Training

June CP Top-Up Training

We are running a Close Protection Top-Up training course in June, from the 10-14 from our County Durham office and have some spaces remaining. Immediately prior to this, we are running an appropriate first aid course to enable you to enrol on the CPTU if you do not have anything suitable already in place. The CPTU training course will be delivered by our Head of Training, Steve Heaney MC.

Entry Requirements

You must have completed a relevant first aid course prior to attending a Close Protection Top-Up course and be in date by 12 months prior to starting the training course with us. If you have completed training that meets the minimum standard you will need to provide evidence of this training so that we can store it for audit purposes. In our case, we run the First Aid at Work course which lasts for 2 days, with a requirement to complete 6hrs online training before you come to us for the 2 days face to face training. You can complete the online training over a period of time prior to attending which can help reduce the time off that you need and thus save you money. Our first aid courses are delivered by a fully qualified and current Paramedic and also an Argus Graduate. Alan is someone that has been working with us for over 10 years and has a wealth of experience in the medical world; your training will be relevant, enjoyable and worthwhile.

You must also have completed your ACT training. This is FREE and is conducted online at your own pace but MUST be completed before we can accept you on to the CPTU course.

Feedback about us

We recently blogged about this, you can read it here. We take your feedback seriously, and of course we love getting favourable comments, but we also encourage absolute honesty from those that come to train with us as without it, we cannot move forward. We have a robust internal quality assurance system in place to ensure that our trainers are delivering to the highest standard possible; we carry out observations when lessons are being delivered, we conduct interviews with students (formal and informal) and ensure that all paperwork is checked so that we can be sure that everything that is needed by the awarding organisations is in place. In addition to our own systems and processes, we are subject to audit from our awarding organisations and of course the SIA; we welcome any and all audits; we have in place what is required so that your qualification will stand up to scrutiny should it need to.

Will the course run?

Yes, we do not cancel at the last minute. We are hearing from a lot of students that have originally booked with another provider only to be let down at the last moment where a training provider has stated that ‘due to operational requirements we are unable to run this course’. There may be many reasons for this, but this will not happen if you book with us. We accept that sometimes numbers are low and that will mean less of a margin at this end, but we absolutely accept that attending these courses can be critical to you being able to continue to work so if our numbers are lower than we would like, then so be it. The course will run.

The Argus Group

Once you have completed training with us, you will be entitled to access the Argus Group – this is our Argus Grads only group and is something that has been in existence for a long time and also some thing that continues to be extremely successful. We operate on a loyalty basis – all of the employment opportunities that come to us go to the group first. You have invested in us by training with us, so we will look to invest in our students when opportunities arise.
