Our next full Close Protection training course is scheduled to take place in July from the 8-27 and will be held from our base in County Durham. The minimum training time as laid down by the SIA is 18 days. Our course currently stands at 20 days which allows us to deliver a more thorough training package thus enabling our students to have every opportunity to go a little further in their chosen career. To enable you to take part in the course you must have completed a relevant first aid course (with a 12 months left to run prior to the start of the course) and you must also have completed your online ACT training – this is free training that can be taken using a mobile phone, tablet, laptop or PC.
Why Us?
We have a long history in delivering this course. We gained awarding body status in 2008 and started delivering accredited training from then but had been delivering training in the security sector for many decades prior. Our President, Brian Tough QGM completed the SAS Close Protection Course in the 1980s before taking on the role of Bodyguard to DSF and then going on to many other distinguished roles as a CPO, security advisor and company owner after leaving UKSF. Since Brian retired, the position of Head of Training with Argus Europe has been taken on by Steve Heaney MC who will be the lead instructor on our July course. Steve himself has a significant background in Close Protection and is an inspirational keynote speaker.
We place significant emphasis on the practical elements of Close Protection training so expect to be out and about quite a lot during your time with us utilising our in-house fleet of vehicles. We do of course have classroom sessions that must be competed but you will find these interesting, interactive and informative.
The Argus Group
Completing a training course with us entitles you to access the exclusive Argus Group – for Argus graduates only. This group is a superb place to carry our your post course support – the training team and other Argus graduates are always on hand to assist with those burning questions! We also have a raft of employment opportunities that are posted to the group, by the group and for the group. many of these opportunities come direct from us, others from Argus grads and some from the wider community but regardless of where they come from, the Argus Group affords some excellent opportunities for those that have completed their training with us.
