Our latest Close Protection Top-Up course was like a past and present!
We take great satisfaction from the fact that people travel back to us to complete their top-up training when they could go elsewhere and take up more convenient options. This is testament to the experience that they had with us when they did their initial training and also linked to the way that we remain in touch with students post course. We have been offering accredited training since 2008 – on this most recent course we had a student return to us who completed his initial training in 2011.
Catch-Up
It is always nice to hear what former students have been up to since qualifying as a CPO, in particular it was interesting to listen to the experiences from an Argus graduate who, as a young civilian, was unsure about his steps into the Close Protection world, but is someone that has made for himself a nice career, working both in the UK and beyond in executive protection and also being taken into more complex environments with teams of people he had worked with before and who valued his professionalism. It was also interesting to listen the views of others on the course about his experiences, all of the other course members were older, former military professionals, who the sceptical among you may think would have had a somewhat negative opinion of his career to date but this was quite the opposite – their overriding opinion was that it was clear that this young man treated the job and his role as a profession rather than just a job. That is something that something that many people should think about.
Networking
It is critical of that you take every opportunity to network and a course can be an excellent opportunity to do just that, especially when it is people with an already shared connection, like those in the Argus Group. Growing the quality of your network is essential so approach this part of your career in the same way you would other areas such as professional development.
