We are very much looking forward to running our next full Close Protection course which will take place from our County Durham offices from July 8th – 27th. Prior to that, students requiring their first aid will be able to do so from the 6th – 7th July after completing 6hrs worth of online training prior to the 2 days face to face training from our offices. This training will be delivered by an Argus Graduate as is the case with all of our training.
New CP Course Programme
Many of you will know that there has been an updated CP course in place since mid 2022. It is these changes that have lead to the introduction of the top-up training for all of the SIA licensed security courses. There have been a number of adjustments that have had to be made at our end to ensure that these courses can be delivered as per the spec, laid down by the various awarding organisations in agreement with the Security Industry Authority. As a training provider, Argus Europe have invested heavily in ensuring that we have:
- the correct training for instructors
- that our administration team are fully up to date with examinations procedures
- appropriate internal quality assurance qualifications
- appropriate first aid equipment and qualifications
- kit and equipment for the Close Protection course
- appropriate training room
- vehicles
- insurance
Course Development
Training providers all have to ensure that the training that we deliver covers all of the learning outcomes for whichever course that we are running. In many cases we have to provide video and written evidence of the various activities that take place throughout the training course and retain this for audit purposes. The audits that we have had so far for the Close Protection and Top-Up courses have been extremely thorough – as advocates of professionalism in the security industry we should all be very pleased that the awarding organisations and the SIA have taken this approach as there can be no room for anything other than absolute professionalism or the industry will not prosper and its qualifications will be derided. That said, not all courses are equal and we very much feel that we go over and above with our courses. We have been delivering CP training for a long time, we continue to be operational, we maintain an operational arm with Argus Risk Management and that helps us ensure that our training reflects the current protocols and procedures as they develop over time.
