August has traditionally been a quiet month for us, it has been a month when we have never run a Close Protection Course due, in the main, to people booking family holidays and block leave from the military often taking place over this time. Things do change though, COVID-19 ensured that the business landscape changed for us and so we are going ahead with a training programme in August this year so, if in any doubt, WE ARE OPEN for business during August!
August CP Top-Up
Our 4 day Close Protection top-up course will run from 22-25 August and will be preceded by a qualifying medical course running from 20-21 August. Both courses have been recued by a day now that we have the appropriate pre-course learning in place. Reducing these courses by a day each will hopefully make them easier for people to attend and reduce the overall cost to each student, however, what students must remember is that this pre-course work must be completed 7 days prior to attending so that we can ensure that it is to the correct standard. Failure to do so will mean that you cannot attend the top-up course – no exceptions! You still have to complete the workbook and sit an exam to confirm that the learning has been achieved. This is not a short-cut by any means, the remote learning is designed to reduce the physical requirement for a 5th day and that is all.
The CPTU course will be delivered by our Head of Training, Steve Heaney MC.
First Aid at Work
This course qualifies you to attend the Close Protection Top-Up course and will be delivered by a long-time Argus trainer and current paramedic, Alan H. Alan served a full career in the British Armed Forces where he operated as a medic for much of his time before going on the circuit, spending a lot of time in the Middle East, Africa and various parts of Europe where he worked as a Close Protection Officer and Medic. Alan delivers a top class course and has a wealth of knowledge to answer any questions that our students may have.
